IRAs & ESAs

Individual Retirement Account (IRA)

An IRA, or Individual Retirement Account, is a great long-term savings tool that you can use to save for your retirement. We offer two types of IRAs; Traditional and Roth. Both offer advantages and the money in your IRA grows tax-free. You may also use an IRA to roll over a retirement plan from a former employer*.

At Intandem Credit Union, funds in an IRA savings and/or IRA Share Certificates are insured to $250,000 by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), a U.S. Government agency.

Educational Savings Account (ESA)

Coverdell ESA might be the perfect way to save for your child’s education. Earnings grow on a tax-deferred basis, and distributions are tax-free if the money is used to pay qualified educational expenses. Check with your tax adviser to see if this is the program for you, then contact Intandem Credit Union and we will be happy to help you establish your child’s own ESA.
